Job Overview

Cisco is hiring Master’s students (freshers) for the role of Machine Learning Engineer Intern. This opportunity is part of Cisco’s advanced AI and engineering teams working on next-generation technologies including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and multimodal systems.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, train, and optimize machine learning and generative AI models

• Work with large language models (LLMs) and multimodal AI systems

• Build scalable and high-performance AI solutions

• Collaborate with engineering, research, and product teams

• Contribute to proof-of-concepts and production-ready AI systems

• Support innovation across Cisco’s AI-driven products and platforms

Eligibility / Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s students graduating in 2027

• Programming experience in Python, Java, C++, or related languages

• Hands-on exposure to NLP, Computer Vision, or Multimodal AI

• Experience with deep learning frameworks for training and fine-tuning models

• Understanding of AI model performance and scalability

Preferred Skills

• Strong foundation in system design and software engineering

• Ability to convert open-ended problems into AI solutions

• Familiarity with modern AI models (CLIP, diffusion models, generative AI)

• Contributions to research, open-source, or AI competitions are a plus
