IBM is inviting applications from fresh graduates and students for the role of Back-end Developer Intern at its Bangalore location. This is an excellent fresher internship opportunity to start a career with one of the world’s leading multinational technology companies.

As a Back-end Developer Intern, selected candidates will work with IBM’s z/OS Technical Support and Product Engineering teams, supporting IBM’s enterprise mainframe systems. The internship offers real-world exposure to large-scale systems, infrastructure tools, and enterprise-level software development.

🎯 Roles & Responsibilities

• Work as part of IBM’s Product Engineering Support team (z Hardware / z-OS)

• Assist in designing and developing productivity and infrastructure tools

• Support serviceability and system reliability for IBM mainframe products

• Apply programming and debugging skills to solve technical issues

• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams

• Gain hands-on experience with enterprise computing and mainframe environments

🎓 Education Qualification

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree (Completed or Pursuing)

Preferred Streams:

• Computer Science Engineering (CSE)

• Computer Engineering

• Electrical Engineering (related technical background)

💻 Required Skills & Technical Expertise (Freshers)

• Strong interest in building a career in Computer Science / Software Engineering

• Fundamentals of software design and testing

• Basic understanding of Computer Architecture

• Knowledge of programming languages such as:

  • C, C++, Java, Assembly

• Good debugging and problem-solving skills

• Scripting knowledge (any of the following):

  • Python, JavaScript, Perl, Bash

• Good communication and teamwork skills

⭐ Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)

• Basic knowledge of Mainframe systems

• Understanding of Computer Networking concepts

• Exposure to web or mobile application development

• Familiarity with development tools such as:

  • Git / GitHub

  • IntelliJ or similar IDEs
